The Ultimate Hikes Centre
The Ultimate Hikes Centre is your one stop destination in Queenstown for all your hiking needs.
Located in the Station building, Duke Street entrance, the Centre carries all the equipment, clothing, and accessories you will need or may have forgotten to bring with you, (with the exception of hiking boots, sleepwear and toiletries).
Open from 7.00am daily (end of October to April), it is also where you will meet for your pre track briefing and collect your backpack and raincoat, and your sleep sheet and towel if required. You can also buy or rent walking poles from here.
The Centre sells a range of practical clothing to suit all tastes and budgets. Check off your equipment list and don't forget that less is more when you are the one carrying it! For this reason, we recommend and stock lightweight thermal clothing like Merino Wool and Polypropylene.
From rain pants to sun hats, sunscreen and insect repellent, our helpful staff are on hand to give you advice on what you must carry and what you may prefer to leave behind.
The centre has t-shirts for those warmer days, that doubles as a classic souvenir of your experience on the Milford and Routeburn Tracks or the Grand Traverse.
