Your day begins with a courtesy pick up from Queenstown accommodation (approximately 7:45am), please ensure that you notify us of where you are staying. You will then travel by coach along the picturesque Queenstown-Glenorchy Road beside Lake Wakatipu. After entering Mt Aspiring National Park it is not far to the renowned Routeburn Track.

There is a leisurely 6km (4 miles) walk up the wide and smooth track to Routeburn Flats. Your guide will explain the unique flora and fauna and local history of the region and will be on hand to answer any questions. At this point there is the option to rest by the river and have lunch in the alpine meadows; however the majority of walkers continue up to Routeburn Falls Lodge for lunch.

Those who choose the climb to the Falls are rewarded with spectacular views and the comfort of the Routeburn Falls Lodge (the final night's accommodation on the multiday walks). This walk is more challenging but most walkers find the experience well worth it. The return walk is along the same track. The approximate return time to Queenstown is 6pm.
