Booking Process - Guided Walks
To secure a reservation we require your credit card details. Full payment will be charged to your credit card 90 days prior to departure for guided multi day walks and 24 hours prior to departure for guided day walks.

Children's prices on guided walks apply to those 10-15 years inclusive. We do not take children under 10 years of age on our guided walks. If you are over 70 years, please consult your doctor to check your physical fitness. 

For those guided walkers who have booked the helicopter fly back option on the Milford Track Guided Walk, please note flights are weather dependent and that there is a minimum number of four people required to fly. We will therefore be unable to confirm your flight until the morning of departure. Payment will be required by credit card or cash at Mitre Peak Lodge once your flight departure has been confirmed.

If you book any of our guided walks, please inform us of where you are staying in Queenstown or Te Anau the night prior to your departure and if you have any specialised dietary requirements.

In some cases, the fully funded New Zealand Government accident compensation scheme know as ACC (the Accident Compensation Corporation) will cover medical and other costs related to a personal injury incurred while in New Zealand.  However, we can not guarantee that such costs will be covered by ACC, and HIGHLY RECOMMEND all walkers carry their own medical/travel insurance while on our walk to cover medical and related costs (eg helicopter off the track, hospital care, accommodation, missed flights, etc).

The operators reserve the right to alter, amend or cancel any trip should weather or any other circumstance necessitate this. Once the walk has departed from Queenstown (or Mt Cook/Te Anau), no portion of the package payment is refundable in the event of an individual or group being unable to proceed further on the track, for whatever reason.

Milford Track Guided Walk, Routeburn Guided Walk and Alpine Guides Mt Cook make all arrangements for these tours on the condition that it shall not be liable for any sickness, injury, damage, loss, accident, delay or irregularity which may be occasioned, either directly or indirectly, by reason of any defect in any vehicle, vessel or aircraft, by weather, by any other cause, or through acts of default of a company or person engaged in conveying the passengers, or in carrying out arrangements for these tours.

Cancellations - Multi Day Walks

All cancellations must be made in writing. Cancellation fees are charged on the following basis per person:

Outside 90 days from date of walk departure:          NZ$100 per person
Between 89-60 days from date of walk departure:   NZ$200 per person
Between 59-21 days from date of walk departure:   50% of full fare
Within 21 days of date of walk departure:                  100% of full fare       

   
These fees are non negotiable, we strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance.

Cancellations - Day Walks

All cancellations must be made in writing. Cancellation fees are charged on the following basis per person:

Outside 24 hours prior to walk departure:                  No fee
Within 24 hours prior to walk departure:                     100% of full fare
