Lounge, Bar & Dining

Relax and enjoy a drink before dinner


Each lodge has a lounge area where you can relax as a group or individually.

Books, magazines, board games and cards are available and tea and coffee and snacks are served at regular times.

In the late afternoon the bar will be opened offering a selection of beer and New Zealand wines by the glass and the bottle. Your drinks will be added to a bar tab to be paid at Mitre Peak Lodge on your last day.

All your food is inclusive while you are with us. This includes lunch on day 1 in Te Anau, until lunch on day 5 travelling back to Queenstown.

In the mornings a continental breakfast will be set out with a selection of cereals, fruit, yoghurt, and toast. Hot porridge is also available.

Shortly afterwards, the hot breakfast will be served. This varies between lodges and includes eggs.


Each morning a range of ingredients will be set out in the lounge for you to make your lunch. you have plenty of options to make sandwiches or create a salad. a range of snacks and fruits are also laid out to choose from to make up a healthy lunch.

In the evening you will enjoy a three-course dinner in the dining room with your fellow walkers. you have a choice of three main courses including a vegetarian option, with the entree and dessert set at each lodge.

Dietary requirements: If you have specific dietary requirements, please advise us at time of booking. We will endeavour to cater for them, however please remember we operate in an extremely isolated and challenging environment.
